Privacy Policy

Effective: June 11, 2026

The short version: your files are processed entirely on your Mac. Signing, compressing, merging, organizing, OCR, redaction, form filling, watermarking and every other PDF operation happens locally. Your documents are never uploaded to us — we don't operate any servers.

Quill has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and collects no data. We cannot see your documents, your usage, or anything else.

The one exception — Chat with PDF: this optional feature sends the text of the document you're chatting with to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com), only when you ask a question, and only using an API key you provide and control. That data is handled under Anthropic's privacy policy. Your key is stored only on your Mac and is sent nowhere except directly to Anthropic. If you never use Chat, nothing ever leaves your machine.

Purchases: Quill Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. We receive no payment information.

Local data: saved signatures, preferences, themes, home-screen statistics and license state live on your Mac and are never transmitted.
